High-voltage cosine capacitors

The main consumers of electricity in industrial enterprises are inductive receivers such as induction motors and transformers. Their work is related to the consumption of reactive energy to create electromagnetic fields. Reactive energy does not produce useful work, and circulating between the receiver and the current source, leads to additional loading of power lines and generators and, therefore, reduces the power factor of the network. All this increases the loss of electricity for heating the cables and wires of the network, as well as the windings of electrical machines, leads to the need to increase the power of generators and transformers at the stations, increases the voltage fluctuations of the network, and also entails an incomplete use of the power of primary motors.

Generation of reactive power at the consumer is usually called reactive power compensation, and the most convenient and economical source of it is power cosine capacitors, performing the functions of energy-saving equipment and improving the quality of electricity.

Features of high voltage capacitors

Cosine high-voltage capacitors are used in electrical installations of alternating current with a frequency of 50 Hz in order to increase the value of its power factor, as well as when bundling various capacitor installations. The use of condenser equipment is aimed at solving such problems as:

– low power indicator of generators and transformers;

– jumps in engineering networks (power transmission).

Modern cosine capacitors are equipped with fuses that meet the requirements of IEC 60871-4, protecting the case in case of emergency operation caused by overvoltage. The maximum permissible overvoltage is 110%, and the current strength is 130%.

Application: to increase the power factor of electrical installations of alternating current with a frequency of 50 Hz, as well as to complete the set of high voltage capacitor banks and batteries of static capacitors.

Remark:

In the designation of capacitors, the first digit after the type is the rated voltage in kilovolts;

the second is the rated power in kvar.

Nominal frequency of current 50 Hz. Permissible exceedances: by voltage – 110%, by current – 130%.

Capacitors are impregnated with an environmentally friendly dielectric fluid and equipped with discharge resistors.

* Capacitors are equipped with internal built-in fuses that meet the requirements of IEC 60871-4.

1) – Capacitors with a body length of 450 mm are intended for a complete set of capacitor installations.

Upon customer request, it is possible to manufacture capacitors in a stainless case.
